By not re-signing Jason Allison after last year's 60-point season, general manager John Ferguson has helped give the big forward a unique place in the Leafs' record book.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Allison has the highest single-season point total of any Leaf who went directly to retirement, assuming he doesn't make a comeback in the next few years.

as a sens fan i always liked allison, as long as the doors were closed on one end of the rink and it wasnt windy inside the rink, allison wasnt gonna catch anybody. naw jokes aside, allison was a very good player in LA and beantown and a class act i believe.
enjoy retirement, you earned it. and if you can come back one day, hat off to ya.
That is too bad his ego finished him off. A few teams were interested in him but he did not what to play in those cities. Now nobody wants him so he had to retire. I don't think it was his choice to stop playing.
