-The Rangers are discussing a deal to get LW Ryan Malone and D Brooks Orpik from Pittsburgh in exchange for RW Petr Prucha RW Adam Hall. Pittsburgh's already thin on the blueline to begin with, so dealing away Orpik would be a questionable decision. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review acknowledged that the Penguins did warn Malone of impending trade talks.
Hocket Guy Notes: Why in the world would the pens deal in their own divsion and when there are really then on the blueline.
- Flyers G Robert Esche is attracting some attention on the trade market. With Michael Leighton available to back-up Antero Niittymaki, the Flyers could be inclined to make a deal that will help them for the future.
Hockey Guy Notes: Esche is wash up and is a cancer in the dressing room.
-either Brian Boucher or Patrick Lalime could get dealt before the deadline.
Hockey Guy Notes: Toronto, Vancouver are in a of a goaile soo watch for them to make a play for both of them.
Canucks LW Jan Bulis could be on the move, as his agent told the Vancouver Province that Bulis is frustrated with his role in Vancouver and could ask for a deal. As Bulis notes, he's one a one-year deal, so he needs an opportunity to produce in order to secure his next contract.
Hockey Guy Notes: Bulis is a good two-way left winger at best suit for the 4th line and not a great scorer!
-the Blue Jackets have started contract talks with LW Fredrik Modin and RW Anson Carter, who will both be free agents at season's end. If new deals aren't reached before the deadline, they will be easy to move to teams needing veteran forward help.
Hockey Guy Notes: Two good offesnive players but playing like shit this year.
- Predators owner Craig Leipold says that if the team is going to make a deal before the deadline, it will likely be for a stay-at-home defenceman.
Hockey Guy Notes: Yes thats what they lack, Dan Hamhuis is still learning the ropes as a stay-at-home d-man.
The Wild have informed other NHL teams that RW Pascal Dupuis is available in trade.
Hockey Guy Notes: Great two player, Can he be headed to the habs?
- TSN's Bob McKenzie mentioned that the Canadiens have talked to the Blackhawks about a deal that would send D Craig Rivet and LW Sergei Samsonov to the Blackhawks for D Adrian Aucoin.
Hockey Guy Notes: All this players in this deal are overpaid and play like shit too.
Edmonton have the Oilers interested in Kings D Lubomir Visnovsky, but Kings GM Dean Lombardi sounds awfully reluctant to deal his blueline star.
Hockey Guy Notes: The kings season is all done, they are just playing for the first overall pick, Just watch Lubomir Visnovsky will ask for a trade because he will want to win and kevin lowe will end up with him.
-Wings make a bid for Flyers C Peter Forsberg who, if healthy, could be re-signed to a multi-year deal in the off-season. while noting rumors out of Montreal that included the Canadiens seeking Forsberg, insists that he is more likely to finish the season in Philadelphia while searching for a solution to his ongoing foot problems.
Hockey Guy Notes: Forsberg career is over folks and no one will trade for injury prone player!
-the Thrashers will make a push to sign Senators C Mike Comrie as a free agent this summer.
Hockey Guy Notes: Comire will stay put in ottawa, he has find a home as the 2nd line center in ottawa.
