Rumours for January 2nd

In a surprise move today Edmonton Oilers Claimed Petr Nedved, He will be a better fit in Edmonton and this move means Smyth Horcoff Hemsky can be reunited and nedved will be on the second line with sykora nedved lupul. If i was Kevin Lowe I would trade Joffrey Lupul for a d-man. Lupul looks lost in Edmonton, I think the pressure of playing with his hometown oilers. and his ugly minus 11 does not help!

Watching the spin, The leafs and sens made claims for nedved but the oilers were lower in the standings.
in another news:
Are the ducks shopping for a d-man?
this is from Spector' Hockey:
Eric Stephens reports Anaheim Ducks GM Brian Burke said the loss of Chris Pronger and Francois Beauchemin for four weeks to had him shopping around for a defenceman. Potentially available d-men like Phoenix's Nick Boynton and St. Louis's Eric Brewer come with salaries Burke doesn't wish to pay. "We're going to see if we can get someone that fits," Burke said. "We have to make sure that we don't use up too much cap room either. We want to make sure we have some flexibility for later in the season." Burke isn't considering UFA blueliner Brian Leetch.

Hockey Guy Note: I would like to see Boynton is Anaheim because he is a good 2ND paring d-man and he can log big minutes. I do not see Brian Leetch coming to the West Conference.

Does Forsberg want out Philly?

Peter Forsberg, who will become the ultimate high-risk, high-reward rental on the trade market before too long, has told confidantes that he is extremely unhappy and uncomfortable operating as captain of the Flyers, a straight-from-another-horse's mouth has informed Slap Shots.
We're told, in fact, that the Flyers' room has become increasingly dominated by neophytes who somehow believe their winning pedigree as juniors entitles them to lead the NHL squad.

Hockey Guy Notes: I think Calgary will make a run for him! I can even see Vancouver making a push for him.

SHARKS DEMOTE CARLE, BERNIER.
San Jose Sharks have demoted forward Steve Bernier and defenceman Matt Carle

Hockey Guy Notes:
This a surprise move, wonder whats up in San Jose?

I think Jason Allison might be getting a phone call by the sens or the sens can be taking a long look @ Craig Conroy, but Muckler might have to stick it out because there is slim pickings right now.
So if i was Muckler i would go with Jason Allison instead of Craig Conroy because of his stats look at Craig Conroy stats 41 games played 14 points on pace for 28 points and is minus 8.
