-Another trade coming for the Coyotes?
The Coyotes are carrying seven defensemen not counting Nick Boynton, who soon will be coming of the injured reserve list (fractured foot).Asked if the Coyotes are working on a deal involving a defenseman, Gretzky didn't say no."I'm not going to lie to you guys," Gretzky told reporters. "I'm not going to sit here and say we're not going to do nothing. That wouldn't be the truth. But there's nothing imminent right now."Gretzky did not elaborate, but given recent ice-time patterns, a deal involving Dennis Seidenberg may be coming soon.

Hockey Guy Notes: Coyotes have a deep blueline, a team in need a d-man will prob look to the coyote
-Something brewing in San Jose?
Don’t want to get too much into Tuesday’s setback in Montreal other than to say turnovers plagued the Lightning. One led to Montreal’s first goal and got Ruslan Fedotenko and Vinny Prospal benched to start the second period. On another play, Cory Sarich gets beat behind the net as Luke Richardson left the front of the net leading to Montreal’s game winning goal.
But what I really wanted to just throw out there is the transaction made today by the San Jose Sharks. In a move that comes as a bit of a surprise the Sharks sent down D Matt Carle and RW Steve Bernier to the minor leagues. I don’t get the chance to pay too much attention to the Western Conference, but I know this move looks a bit surprising. Carle is among the candidates for rookie of the year while Bernier, although he has been struggling at times this season, is a great talent.
To me, I get the feeling San Jose is clearing roster space for something to happen. They have goaltender Vesa Toskala just kind of sitting on the bench right now and he is a sought after commodity. I don’t know anything in particular, but this smells like something is coming for the Sharks. Whether that means Tampa Bay is involved - Toskala would be an upgrade in net for sure - I don’t know. But I think San Jose might be up to something as they have hit a bump in the road recently.

Hockey Guy Notes: the sharks are really weak down the right wing, and they have two good goailes, they will be makeing a trade any day now.
